Nioh 2 To Receive A Closed Alpha Starting This Friday

Team Ninja's Soulslike is back.

Nioh 2

Hey, you there! Have you finished Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and you’re looking for another ultra hard game to play? Team Ninja would like to hear from you, as they’ve just announced that Nioh 2 will be getting a closed alpha on PS4. In even better news, that closed alpha starts on Friday, May 24th, and will run until Sunday, June 2nd. Check out the announcement trailer.

The trailer doesn’t give a lot of concrete information beyond the existence of an alpha and the dates, but the 90 seconds of new footage demonstrate new characters courtesy of the new character creator feature, new enemies and locations, along with a playable demon form that looks similar to the Devil Trigger feature in Devil May Cry. Heck, being able to turn into a slobbering hellspawn to make fighting tough bosses that little bit easier is a choice we’d make every single time.

As we said, details about this announcement are scarce. Team Ninja themselves put a tweet out stating that “Some PS4 users are invited to take part in the Nioh 2 closed alpha to help gather feedback for the development. To ensure the team can manage the feedback, there are no plans to expand the alpha at the moment.” Once we have more information, we’ll update this post.
