New Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer Reveals Kotal Kahn

Though the trailer should really be named "Jacqui Briggs is awesome".

Mortal Kombat 11

A new gameplay trailer has been unveiled for Mortal Kombat 11, confirming that current Outworld emperor Kotal Kahn will be a playable character in the upcoming game. Unfortunately, it would appear that Warner Bros. got the wrong title for the trailer. Seems like it really should be a Jacqui Briggs showcase. Check out the trailer below.

The trailer sees Kotal and Jacqui slugging it out, trading blows, gunshots and so awful sword impaling. Kotal seems to have retained much of his abilities from MK X, including the ability to set down pillars and drink the blood of his enemies, while also turning into a cat. That’s definitely new. Jacqui, meanwhile, seems to have a bunch of new moves, including some new grapple attacks and a Muay Thai Clinch.

While we don’t get to see Kotal’s Fatal Blow or Fatality, we do get to see Jacqui’s, and if Johnny Cage’s fatality didn’t exist, Jacqui would be a strong contender for Mortal Kombat’s “Fatality of the Game”. It’s pretty brutal.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be launching on April 23rd on PS4, Xbox One, PC and the Nintendo Switch, with a closed beta scheduled for March 28th for those who pre-order the game. Which revealed character are you most excited to play as? Let us know in the comments below.
