New Hyenas Gameplay Trailer Revealed Ahead Of Closed Beta

Plunder wonder.

Hyenas

SEGA’s upcoming extraction shooter Hyenas looks like it’s going to be a real barrel of laughs, as players join together to compete for loot across various Plunderships, but if you’re not sure whether or not this game is for you, the new gameplay trailer from Creative Assembly might help you figure it out. Check out the trailer for yourself at the top of the page if you like.

The gameplay trailer above shows players an abridged example of what a typical match of Hyenas looks like. Five teams of three spawn in at different locations across this massive Plundership, and must find both upgrades to their weaponry and Merch, the precious treasure that determines who the winners are. Merch can be found in various vaults around the map, but each vault is protected by MURFs, the robotic security forces working against every squad.

Once a squad has managed to accrue 10,000 in Merch, the endgame phase of the game begins, with an extraction location appearing on the map. At that point, all rival players can converge on the winning team to ensure they don’t make it out alive, which is where strategies begin to emerge. Do you go in, all guns blazing on the winning team, or do you let everyone wipe each other out then mop up the scraps?

If the gameplay is appealing to you, the closed beta might be right up your street, which is set to start from tomorrow at 3pm BST on Steam. You can request access to the beta through the game’s Steam page, though there’s also the chance to enter the beta through social media promotions and via Twitch drops. As for console players, the Hyenas beta won’t be available on PlayStation or Xbox, but the full game will launch on consoles when it’s ready.
