Nintendo have released a new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield, which reveals some of the new Pokémon that’ll be calling the Galar Region home, along with some of the characters that you’ll encounter along the way. The trailer also reveals Gigantamaxing, a phenomenon above Dynamaxing that causes certain Pokémon to grow even larger in size, while altering their appearance and granting them access to a unique G-Max Move. Check out the trailer below.

The trailer reveals the four new Pokémon that inhabit the Galar Region: the Cream Pokémon Alcremie, who has a Gigantamax form, the Coal Pokémon Rolycoly, the Alloy Pokémon Duraludon and the internet’s favourite Yamper. Honestly, we would die for Yamper, that cute little bundle of electric fluff.

Also revealed was the existence of game specific gyms across Sword and Shield. In Pokémon Sword, you’ll face off against the Fighting type Gym Leader Bea, while Shield players will have to contend with the Ghost type specialist Allister. Fingers crossed that there are more differences between both games going forward.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will launch on November 15th on the Nintendo Switch, and those who purchase the special Dual Pack Steelbook edition will be given a special code that gives them Dynamax Crystals. These Crystals will allow players to face off against Dynamaxed versions of Larvitar and Jangmo-o. Larvitar isn’t available in Sword, and Jangmo-o can’t be found in Shield, but these codes will allow players to catch these Pokémon in both games. Are you excited for the latest Pokémon games?
