Today marks the day in The Last of Us’ canon in which the world promptly turned to heck. September 26th, known as Outbreak Day in-universe, commemorates when the cordyceps infection started to wipe out civilisation.

So, of course, the only way to cherish those we lost is with a sale on all things The Last of Us, namely a heavy discount on its version for PS4. From now until the 2nd of October, you can buy The Last of Us Remastered from the PlayStation Store for as little as $9.99. Standalone expansion Left Behind is also down to just $4.99.

The PS4 version of the game buffs up the already very pretty visuals and comes with 4K and HDR support, as well as the aforementioned Left Behind. The game also has a supremely underrated multiplayer mode with DLC for it included in the Outbreak Day sale, but for my money, you should really try and beat the game on Grounded instead.

Naughty Dog have big plans for Outbreak Day 2018, which they are revealing in a matter of hours. We already know that we’ll be getting themes and avatars, but watch this space for the updates and goodies as they arrive — they may even reveal more about the sequel.

The Last of Us: Part II will release exclusively for PS4.
