Mortal Kombat, the upcoming movie based on the iconic fighting game series, has had its Russian trailer leaked online. The trailer has been shared around on Reddit, which you can check out for yourself below. While it’s hard to understand what’s being said aside from names because of the Russian dub, the fighting actually looks decent. This could be a good one, folks.

What’s The Mortal Kombat Movie About?

The Mortal Kombat movie is a retelling of the events of the first game, only with some changes. Shang Tsung, under the bidding of Shao Kahn, has invited Earthrealm’s greatest warriors to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament. The feud between Scorpion and Sub-Zero appears to be taking a bigger focus, with the trailer casting Sub-Zero as more of a villain. It’s likely that the film with deal with the fact that there’s a second Sub-Zero, with the more good natured Kuai Liang possibly suffering the wrath from Bi-Han’s actions.

What Else Is Shown In The Trailer?

The trailer also focuses on a brand new character, Cole Young, who’s played by Lewis Tan. Cole is an MMA fighter who sports the iconic dragon symbol as a birthmark on his chest. He’s recruited by Lord Raiden, Sonya Blade and the rest of the MK Super Friends to take part in the deadly tournament. We also see small glimpses of characters like Mileena and Reptile. Hopefully, Mortal Kombat will live up to expectations when it launches in theaters and on HBO Max on April 16th.
