Mortal Kombat 1

Invasions mode in Mortal Kombat 1 is NetherRealm’s next big single-player experience, sticking players slap bang in the middle of their own Mortal Kombat table-top experience. Players travel through the map, landing on nodes and doing battle with various opponent, with each node offering different challenges, modifiers and surprises.

This is a Mortal Kombat game though, so it’s no surprise that the Invasions Mode hosts its fair share of secrets for players to find. One of these secrets are Klues, which can be found on various nodes throughout the differents Mesas in Invasions. Each Klue Node offers a cryptic phrase that tasks you with completing a certain objective during that fight to unlock a chest full of rewards.

Finding the Klue Nodes themselves isn’t difficult, as you just need to follow the green lines to find new fights. Eventually, you’ll reach the Klue Node, but knowing what to do when you get there is another story. With that in mind, here’s all the Klues you’ll find in Season 1 of the Invasions mode, and what you need to do to solve them.

Fengjian Village Klues

ESDORYT TEH DWLOR (Destroy The World) – Finish off an opponent with Kameo Cryax’s Fatality.

Sun Do Festival Klues

TOASTY!!! – Finish off an opponent with Kameo Scorpion’s Fatality.
AMNISLTA4 (Talisman 4) – Equip a talisman that has four or more charges, and use four of them during the fight.

Tarkatan Colony Klues

Flipping Out – Flip stances a bunch of times (press left trigger/L2 during a fight). An exact number isn’t known at this time, with solutions ranging from 20 to 30 times.
Dedaerht (Threaded) – Finish off an opponent using Ashrah’s second fatality, Threaded. Second fatalities aren’t unlocked immediately, but you can perform them if you know the input, which is down, down, back, back kick (B/Circle) from a medium distance. Reportedly though, using Ashrah’s first fatality also works, so just use a fatality with Ashrah and you should be golden.

Shang Tsung’s Laboratory Klues

Another Test Subject – Finish off an opponent using either of Shang Tsung’s fatalities.
Brutal Ways – Finish off an opponent with any Brutality. The fight tied to this Klue is locked behind a Nether Stone gate however, so you’ll need to obtain the Nether Stone first, which can only be obtained by defeating Hellfire Scorpion.

Living Forest Klues

Quackx10 – Duck 10 times during the match. Hold block as you press duck, as that will stop you from automatically taunting after four ducks.
NOMED RENNI (Inner Demon) – Finish off an opponent using Kameo Sareena’s Fatality.
Erteca Aosch (Create Chaos) – Finish off an opponent using either of Havik’s fatalities. This means you’ll have to unlock Havik though.

Fire Temple Klues

KCIRT TAH (Hat Trick) – Finish off an opponent using Kameo Kung Lao’s Fatality.
Use The Element That Brings Life – Finish off an opponent using either of Rain’s fatalities.

It’s worth noting here that there’s been some chatter online about a “Nucking Futs” Klue, but there seems to be no evidence of it actually existing, just some comments on Reddit and its appearance in some guides. The best we’ve managed to find is an actual Node in the Sun Do Festival Mesa with the title Nucking Futs, but no Klue. Hopefully, as more people begin to complete Season 1 of the Invasions Mode, we’ll get more insight into this elusive Klue, if it even exists.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available now on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X & S and Nintendo Switch.
