Mob Psycho 100: Season 3: Release Date, Story & Everything You Should Know

Mob Psycho 100
Mob Psycho 100

Mob Psycho 100 is one of the best character-driven narratives to come out in recent years. Since it’s created by the author of One-Punch Man, its plot may seem similar, but Mob Psycho 100 is arguably a far better anime.

Be it comedy, action, or slice-of-life stuff, Mob Psycho 100 does everything flawlessly. The show can not only make you tear up laughing, but it can also make you sad enough to shed those tears.

Studio Bones does a fantastic job bringing the manga’s simple art style to life. The action scenes in the anime are especially so visually stunning. If not for the beautiful story, you should watch Mob Psycho 100 just for its brilliant openings.

The first season of Mob Psycho 100 premiered in July 2016 and ran for 12 episodes. The second season premiered in January 2019 for 13 episodes. And now, after all this time, Mob Psycho: Season 3 is coming out.

When Is Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Coming Out?

In October 2021, the official Twitter account of the Mob Psycho 100 anime announced its third season. On May 12, 2022, on the occasion of Mob’s birthday, a trailer PV for Mob Psycho Season 3 was released, which revealed that the anime would premiere in October 2022.

It was confirmed on August 8th, 2022 that Mob Psycho 100: Season 3 will begin airing on October 5th, 2022 on Crunchyroll.

Mob Psycho 100: Season 3 Opening

Mob Psycho 100 has consistently produced some of the best openings. The first opening was ’99, and the second was ‘99.9.’ So most people guessed that the new opening would be, of course, ‘100.’ However, at Anime Expo’s Mob Psycho panel, it was revealed that the new opening is “1“, and this one is a bop too.

What Is Mob Psycho 100: Season 3 About?

The trailer PV for Mob Psycho 100: Season 3 indicates that the show will pick up where Season 2 left off, with Mob accidentally growing giant broccoli in the middle of the city after his epic final battle.

The trailer’s focus seems to be on the fact that Mob cannot choose his career path, while Psycho Helmet Cult appear to be attracting a lot of attention. At the end of the trailer, we also hear Ekubo saying, “Listen up, this is one and only command from me,” so does this mean he will die in the finale? Only time will tell.

The final episode of Season 2 was based on Chapter 91 of the manga, which means out of the 16 total volumes, 12 have already been adopted. This leaves only four volumes that Mob Psycho: Season 3 will cover. These three volumes contain the “Divine Tree Arc,” “Telepathy Mini-Arc,” “???% Arc,” and the epilogue.

Studio Bones has proved its mettle by giving the world top-class anime like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, My Hero Academia, and of course, Mob Psycho 100, so you shouldn’t fret about the lack of source material. They’re one of the top studios in Japan, so we are sure to get an unforgettable final season.
