MJF Misses AEW Fan Event, May Not Attend Double Or Nothing

Love a bit of drama.

‘The Salt of the Earths’ issues with AEW management has reached a boiling point over Double or Nothing weekend. It has been confirmed that MJF no-showed a scheduled fan event, disappointing those that had paid in advance to meet the three-time Diamond Ring winner and likely be verbally berated by the heel star. Although MJF’s status for Double or Nothing is still up in the air, this could very well jeopardise his match with Wardlow on tonight’s card.

Backstage personnel have stated that this is not part of some elaborate work or scripted programme, MJF did in fact choose not to attend off his own back and had even been scheduled to fly out of Las Vegas later that day, though reports have since confirmed that he did not board said plane. AEW sources have voiced their displeasure in MJF, suggesting that relations are now reaching an all time low between the two parties.

The disputes began over MJF’s contract renewal, with Friedman being unhappy over the amount he was being paid compared to other stars in the company. MJF has not been subtle since this back-and-forth and has taken to social media to stoke the fires of him potentially leaving in the very near future. Now with this fan event debacle, it’s looking very likely that he’ll be let go sooner rather than later.

AEW Double or Nothing is set to take place tonight in Las Vegas, whether we see MJF vs Wardlow or not, we’ll just have to wait and see.
