Meet the Vultures: Ashley Bates

Ashley Bates

Hey, Ashley! How are you? What was the last thing you ate and what would you rate it out of ten?
I would like to say I’m doing okay, but I’ve just got off a big Street Fighter V losing streak. I’ve been eating shit for an hour and I wouldn’t rate it. Definitely not vital to your five a day.

What’s your favourite video game?
Purely for the amount of time I put into it, Halo 3 has to be my favourite game. It’s the perfect blend of engrossing campaign and superlative multiplayer experience. Countless hours spent destroying players online, or testing new maps and modes in a friendly custom game. Bully and Burnout 3 are close behind it, mind you. The nostalgia is strong with me.

What drew you to CV?
I saw an opportunity to interact with a group of hard working and like-minded individuals, and I also found an editor crazy enough to publish my stupid fucking Donald Trump drinking game. God bless ya, Jimmy. Seriously, CV is a fantastic platform for whatever subject you feel compelled to write about. Gaming, Wrestling, Poetry, Music, Theatre and more; CV does it all.

Where else can we find you?
Currently, I’m a senior editor and reviewer for Xbox One UK, a fan created website dedicated to all things Xbox. We’re a group of passionate Xbox players from all walks of life covering everything from the big releases to the indie games you’ve never heard of. We might have to change the name when Project Scorpio comes out, though. You can also find me on Twitter @donovan_ryder or in the pub enjoying one or 12 drinks of Captain Morgan’s.

Who would win in a fight: a kangaroo with one punching hand or a crocodile missing half of its teeth?
I’m pretty sure this was the main event to Southpaw Regional Wrestling’s Lethal Leap Year. Tex Ferguson interfered on behalf of the kangaroo to cost the crocodile the title, right? I believe commentator Lance Catamaran said it was worse than “licking syphilis-riddled cum off a nettle branch” and “a new low for humanity”. Maybe WWE will book the long awaited rematch.
