Gwent’s Latest Expansion Brings Back Gaunter O’Dimm, The Rascal

Oh you lovable ruiner of lives, you.

CD Projekt Red has today announced the Master Mirror expansion for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, which is due for release on June 30th.

Master Mirror will bring 70 new cards to the game, all of them themed around that bloody rascal Gaunter O’Dimm, who you may remember from The Witcher 3’s excellent Hearts of Stone expansion.

O’Dimm is behind a lot of the history of the Continent, and this will be explored (to an extent) with these latest cards.

He’s always been there, quietly pulling at fate’s strings, his evil touch creeping its way into key events in the Continent’s history. From the Empire of Nilfgaard, to the Northern Realms, to the isles of Skellige and beyond, his influence knows no bounds. You may be tempted to try to defy the diabolical trickster, but in the end all will play by his rules and all will bend to his will. He is Master Mirror, and it is he who decides how the story plays out.

The new cards will include a Legendary type that “evolves in both appearance and power as the battle progresses” — wonder who that could be. The expansion will also include 11 new neutral cards, usable across all of Gwent’s factions. On top of that, new statuses and abilities will also be released with Master Mirror.

Master Mirror pre-order offers include the ability to use a Gaunter O’Dimm leader skin, on top of a cardback and title centered around Master Mirror.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is a CCG spin-off from The Witcher 3’s Gwent, which became one of the most popular parts of an already amazing game for many. Available for free on PC, iOS, and Android, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game was previously available on PS4 and Xbox One before CD Projekt Red stopped supporting those versions due to lower playerbases.
