In a world of fantasy and magic, what do you need to stand above your peers? Turns out, all you need is the strength of a god and nothing else. Are you ready to continue this journey of gains? No, this isn’t about a new Black Clover series. This is about Mashle: Magic and Muscles.

The gig might be up though, since the Season 1 finale gives Mash’s secret away. Now that the whole academy knows about Mash being completely magic-less, will he even be able to stay? Well, there’s no point in thinking about it. Grab a creampuff and read on. Here’s the release date for Mashle: Season 2 and what it’ll be about.

When Is Mashle: Season 2 Being Released?

Get your workout regimes in order because Mashle: Season 2 is coming sometime in January 2024. Harry Potter’s muscle-bound clone was so successful that they revealed a second season was coming right after the first ended. In the last few seconds of Mashle: Season 1, Episode 12, a message was flashed saying that the Divine Visionary Selection Exam Arc will start in January 2024.

Since the second season of Mash’s misadventures at the Easton Magic Academy will air as a part of the Winter 2024 anime line-up, that means it’ll be streaming side-by-side with the upcoming Solo Leveling anime, as well as Classroom of the Elite: Season 3. To be honest, that’s a hell of a way to start off the year.

What Is Mashle: Season 2 About?

Obviously, the biggest question for the plot of Mashle: Season 2 is: will Mash be able to stay in Easton Magic Academy? The short answer to that is yes. Despite them advertising the Divine Visionary Selection Arc, there’s technically another arc before it: the Execution Arc. It’s probably simply because it’s relatively short and won’t really be the focus of Mashle: Season 2.

After news of Mash’s lack of magic spreads, he gets summoned by the Vice Director of the Bureau of Magic. To prove he can use magic, Mash must light a candle without touching it. He somehow manages to do it. This test indicates that there might be some magic potential in him and is enough to keep him from expulsion.

On to the Divine Visionary Selection Arc, where Mash and his friends will compete in the Divine Visionary Selection Exam. This exam will reveal if Mash truly has what it takes to become one of the Divine Visionaries, his dream. Entering their ranks will allow him to finally be accepted, even though he doesn’t use magic.

It’s also in this arc that Mash’s true father will finally be revealed.

Mashle: Season 2 Confirmed Cast

Mashle: Magic and Muscles has arguably some of the best supporting characters in anime. In Mashle: Season 2, plenty more of them, both good and bad, will be introduced, but for now, here’s the recurring cast for the next season.

  • Chiaki Kobayashi (Japanese) / Aleks Le (English) as Mash Burnedead
  • Reina Ueda (Japanese) / Anjali Kunapaneni (English) as Lemon Irvine
  • Kaito Ishikawa (Japanese) / Stephen Fu (English) as Lance Crown
  • Yuki Kaji (Japanese) / Ray Chase (English) as Rayne Ames
  • Reiji Kawashima (Japanese) / Brian Timothy Anderson (English) as Finn Ames
  • Takuya Eguchi (Japanese) / Benjamin Diskin (English) as Dot Barrett
  • Natsuki Hanae (Japanese) / Brandon McInnis (English) as Cell War

Which Studio Is Making Mashle: Season 2?

A-1 Pictures, the studio that animated Season 1, will also be animating Mashle: Season 2. As for the producers though, so far, technically only Aniplex is confirmed since they released the trailer. Asatsu DK, Shueisha, and INSPION Edge, the co-producers of Season 1 haven’t been named yet.

However, they did immediately start working on Mashle: Season 2 after Season 1 ended. That speed makes it very likely that all the co-producers from Season 1 are still on board for Season 2.

Other anime from these companies that you may recognize are One Punch Man, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Kaguya-sama Love is War.

Mashle: Season 2 Trailer

Fortunately, A-1 Pictures didn’t leave us hanging with the Mashle: Season 2 announcement, they accompanied the news with a slick 70-second trailer that highlights moments from the Divine Visionary Exam arc. Shots of Cell War and references to Innocent Zero, one of the anime’s central antagonists were also heavily present in the trailer. The trailer is more action than story, though there will be a lot of that too in Mashle: Season 2.

Where To Watch Mashle

You can watch Mashle: Magic and Muscles on Crunchyroll. If you’re from a country in the Asia-Pacific, Amazon Prime Video also has the right to stream Mashle in that region. Both these services have yet to announce if they’ll be streaming Mashle: Season 2.
