August 2018’s free PlayStation Plus games have been revealed with the month ahead proving to be a very solid one for PS4 and Xbox One gamers alike. Does Games With Gold have the edge over PlayStation Plus this time out, though? Nobody cares.
Mafia 3 is the marquee act for this month’s selections. Featuring an open world set in the 60s, Mafia 3 casts you as Lincoln Clay in the racially charged New Bordeaux. You will be able to sink many hours into this one, though you may find that it gets repetitive pretty damn fast.
The supporting act, as it were, is Dead By Daylight. The isometric slasher game is something of a cult favourite over on PC, though it does have a strong enough following on PS4. With it coming to PlayStation Plus subscribers, you can bet that people will be killing generator-lovers more often than ever before.
As a couple of bonuses, notoriously nauseating PSVR game Here They Lie will also be a part of the lineup. It’s not bad by any means, but has been known to make plenty of players feel unwell. Luckily, you can play it “traditionally” if you so wish without a headset. PlayLink game Knowledge Is Power is also included this month, a fun little title for all the family.
Here’s the line-up in full:
Mafia 3 – PS4 Dead By Daylight – PS4 Here They Lie – PS4 Knowledge Is Power – PS4 Bound by Flame – PS3 Serious Sam 3 BFE – PS3 Draw Slasher – PS Vita Space Hulk – PS Vita
That’s eight games in total if you own all platforms. These new games will be available from August 7th as it’s the first Tuesday of the month (the way it’s always been done) — Here They Lie will be available until October 2nd.
