Mad Men: Season 8 – Everything You Need To Know

Mad Men
Mad Men

Mad Men is easily one of the biggest masterpieces that AMC has ever produced. The drama show has won over 16 Emmys and five Golden Globes, not to mention the incredible performance given to us by Jon Hamm as Don Draper. It’s been almost a decade since we last saw Mad Men air on AMC, so you might wonder if an eighth season will ever come out.

Although it was advertised as the series finale, you can’t help but think about the possibility of a potential continuation or spin-off, considering the show’s popularity. Will we get Mad Men: Season 8? Or will AMC pull a Better Call Saul sort of prequel for Mad Men? Find out as we discuss everything to know about Mad Men: Season 8.

When Is Mad Men: Season 8 Coming Out?

Unfortunately, Mad Men: Season 8 has no official release date, as there are no plans to make an eighth season. It’s not that the show got canceled. It’s just that the story reached a natural conclusion in its seventh season. As a matter of fact, the creator, Matthew Weiner, already planned Mad Men’s ending in Season 4.

By Season 7, the characters’ storylines have all been wrapped up, finishing the show for good. We had people like Don realizing his true purpose after losing everything, Peggy ending up with a man who understands her ambition, and Pete finally redeeming himself. Since the story has ended, don’t expect Mad Men: Season 8 to come out anytime soon unless AMC decides to reboot the series.

What Could Mad Men: Season 8 Be About?

Considering the show already made its final outing, no one knows what a potential Mad Men: Season 8 will be about. We can only go through the possible what-if scenarios on the off-chance it does happen.

If Mad Men: Season 8 gets made, we’ll probably see Don working at Coca-Cola since the series finale ended with the “I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke” ad, suggesting that Don ended up working for Coke. A new season could also explore American society in the 70s. The original series was set in 1960s America, so it could be a nice change of pace if they decide to introduce new themes during that period.

Where To Watch Mad Men in the US

While Mad Men: Season 8 may never become available, US viewers can watch Mad Men: Seasons 1-7 on AMC+ Apple TV Channel, AMC+ Amazon Channel, and AMC+ Roku Premium Channel. You can also purchase the episodes on the Microsoft Store, Amazon Video, Vudu, and Apple TV.

Where To Watch Mad Men in the UK

Like the US, Mad Men: Season 8 may never be released in the UK because the show is over. Still, UK viewers can stream Mad Men: Seasons 1-7 on Sky Go and Freevee. Alternatively, the series can be purchased on Apple TV, Amazon Video, Sky Store, and Microsoft Store.

How Many Episodes Will Mad Men: Season 8 Have?

As mentioned earlier, Mad Men already ended its run, which means there will be no episodes for an eighth season. The series mostly had 13 episodes per season, except for the final one, which was split into two parts with seven episodes each. If Mad Men were to return for Season 8, you can expect its episode count to be around that range unless AMC decides to switch it up.

Mad Men: Season 8 Trailer

Sadly, there’s currently no Mad Men: Season 8 trailer. It’s best not to get your hopes up for a trailer since the show has officially ended but never say never.  Who knows? Considering its popularity, AMC might revisit the series at some point in the future. Whether they announce Mad Men: Season 8 or a brand new spin-off, we’ll update you through this article if that ever happens.
