Released today, Tarsier’s Little Nightmares is one of the most striking horror games of the year. It’s a blend of familiar gameplay mechanics and exquisite art that is only let down by the short length of its playthrough – it should take you three hours, give or take.
It holds up well to repeated playthroughs, however. There are many small details and quirks that you will miss as you’re trying not to get eaten every five minutes; it’s almost worth staying idle and just watching the beautifully animated “freaks” of The Maw go about their business.
Little Nightmares also has it fair share of collectibles, which players will doubtlessly fail to find all in one sitting. After beating the story, I only have a fraction of them and am sitting at 30% overall completion for PS4 trophies.
So it’s a shame and a bit of a missed opportunity that it doesn’t come with a Platinum trophy.
There isn’t even a Silver for playing through Little Nightmares. The hardest trophy, Hard to the Core, is only a Gold.

Even if you’re a completionist, you should still try Little Nightmares. Plus, there are still plenty of dirt easy Platinum trophies available on PS4.
