Pretty long!

Necromunda: Hired Gun is a single-player FPS set in the Warhammer 40K universe that is available at a reduced price compared to most AAA games. But how long is Necromunda: Hired Gun, and is it good value?

It should take you 7-8 hours to complete the story for Necromunda: Hired Gun if you’re playing on Medium difficulty. The game isn’t all that hard and its levels aren’t that complicated, but you may get stuck on some of the longer boss encounters. If you’re playing on higher difficulties, you can add an hour or two to Necromunda: Hired Gun’s overall length.

7-8 hours isn’t a bad amount of playtime for a single-player FPS game, but there’s actually a lot more to Hired Gun than meets the eye. You can take part in B-Missions, A-Missions, and S-Missions, seemingly randomly generated missions that give you objectives to complete in mini-levels. This will offer at least a few more hours of content as you look to increase faction levels, if not even more than that if you don’t mind the repetition.

As well as the main content, Necromunda: Hired Gun also has a very robust trophy/achievement list that will take you a lot of effort to get through. “The one and only” asks you to finish a hard level with just a pistol, “Sniper” makes you kill 10 enemies in a row with headshots, and there are loads of others that ask you to rack up kills with all of your different abilities. The trophies/achievements on there are own are probably going to add at least five hours of playtime right there.

Ultimately, Necromunda: Hired Gun isn’t the longest game ever made, but thanks to its fairly beefy campaign, additional content, and challenge for full completion, you’re getting more than enough bang for your buck, especially at the £30/$33.99 price tag around its launch.

Necromunda: Hired Gun is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
