Horizon Zero Dawn Outsells Breath of the Wild in the UK

Horizon of the Wild

Perhaps unsurprisingly considering it only came out on March 3rd, Breath of the Wild has been beaten to the top of the sales charts in the UK by Horizon Zero Dawn for the week ending March 4th, according to Chart-Track.

Over 80% of the sales for the latest Zelda game came on the Nintendo Switch with the game also available on the Wii U. Other Switch launch titles pop up in the top ten with 1-2-Switch in fourth and Super Bomberman R at seventh.

Elsewhere, GTA V refuses to die and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare drops out of the top ten for the first time since launch. For Honor clings on at fifth, despite its many documented troubles.

Here’s the top ten in full:

1. Horizon Zero Dawn
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
3. Grand Theft Auto V
4. 1-2-Switch
5. For Honor
6. FIFA 17
7. Super Bomberman R
8. Rocket League
9. Sniper Elite 4
10. Battlefield 1

Can Breath of the Wild overtake Horizon, a game it shares some common DNA with? It will be interesting to see as both have been having overwhelmingly positive reviews, but it’s worth bearing in mind that the playerbase for Horizon could be much larger due to the wider adoption of the PS4.
