Halo Infinite: How To Play With Friends

In a “surprise” launch, 343 Industries and Xbox Game Studios lifted the curtain on Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode a few weeks early, allowing players time to get to grips with the multiplayer modes before the full campaign launches on December 8th. Like with most multiplayer games, Halo Infinite is best enjoyed when playing with friends, but if you don’t know how to invite people, you might need some help.

Here’s how you can start playing with friends in Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite: How To Invite Friends

In Halo Infinite, you can form parties with other players and friends that are called Fireteams, which allow you to matchmake together. In order to do so, you’ll need to hit the View button while in Halo Infinite’s menus to reach the Social tab. If you’re wondering, the View button is the one that’s to the left and underneath the big Xbox button on your Xbox controller.

While in your Social tab, you can access the Halo Infinite profiles of your Xbox friends list, along with your recently played list, meaning you’ve got an easy way to party up with that random guy in your last game who’s cracked with a sniper rifle, if you wish. From here, you can invite people to your Fireteam by clicking on their profile then chucking them an invite, or you can join their Fireteam if their privacy settings permit that.

Halo Infinite: How To Change Your Privacy Settings

In order to change your privacy settings, you’ll need to head over to your Fireteam in the Social tab. Just above where your profile is, there’s a header that you can select. Doing so will bring up the Fireteam options menu, where you can change the privacy from Open, Friends Only and Invite Only, which means anyone can join, only friends can join or you have to invite people respectively.
