God of War Ragnarok is the most accessible game in the franchise to date, with more options to help players of all backgrounds than ever before. If you’re wanting a slightly different Ragnarok experience from your current playthrough, the best way to do so is by changing difficulty.
To change difficulty in God of War Ragnarok, simply go to Settings > Gameplay > Challenge Level, then change the difficulty level that suits you best.
While they’ve all been given unusual games, they’re all pretty much the default easy-hard difficulty levels we all know and love across gaming:
Give Me Story (Very Easy)
Give Me Grace (Easy)
Give Me Balance (Medium)
Give Me No Mercy (Hard)
Give Me God of War (Very Hard)
Whichever you want to play is down to you, and you can play on the easiest difficulty and still unlock the Platinum trophy. That might be a good idea if you’re a completionist, as Ragnarok is quite the beefy game indeed.
Bear in mind that you have to choose Give Me God of War (Very Hard) from the outset with Ragnarok. Players aren’t able to switch to it if they’re already started a save after selecting a different difficulty, though it’s probably best left to those who have already played through the game at least once.
God of War Ragnarok is available on PS5 and PS4.
