Ghostwire: Tokyo: How To Use Emotes

Ghostwire: Tokyo isn’t the first game that’ll spring to mind when you think of games that have emotes, but it rather surprisingly does have them, including one that’s a pre-order bonus. However, they work in a slightly odd way.

Emotes in Ghostwire: Tokyo can only be used within the game’s photo mode. This is because Ghostwire is a first-person game, and busting out an emote on an ancient Japanese spirits would be slightly immersion breaking.

To use photo mode, simply pause the game and choose it from the menu. You then need to enter selfie mode (triangle on a DualSense) and then choose your emote from the selection, then preview it (square on the DualSense) to use that emote.

More emotes can be unlocked by playing the game and completing side content, as well as finding collectibles. There’s a whole host of emotes to unlock and while they’re essentially not even that essential, they’re still fun to use in their own weird way.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is available on PC and PS5.
