One of the most anticipated horror games of the year, it should come as no surprise that Friday the 13th: The Game has plenty of fans who have been patiently waiting for a release date.

Originally due to come out in October 2016 to meet Halloween, the game was pushed back to fine-tune things and make sure beheadings were just that little extra bloody. It will now come out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 26th through digital distribution only.

Coming in at $40 (roughly £30), Friday the 13th: The Game is reminiscent of titles like Evolve in that it will focus on 1 vs. all gameplay with one player taking control of Jason and up to seven others as doomed counsellors. It has a heavy emphasis on teamwork and has been worked on by horror icons such as Tom Savini, Sean S. Cunningham, Harry Manfredini, and Kane Hodder.
