To coincide with the addition of balloons to Fortnite as part of the game’s v6.21 patch, Epic Games have today released a new trailer to show the recently added item.
Featuring far too many clowns and jingly music to maintain Fortnite’s kid-friendly vibe, it’s not something you’re going to want to watch if Pennywise puts the willies up you. You can check out the short trailer below.
The new item will allow players to float upwards to gain verticality in a similar vein to the Jetpack. Just like that polarising item, however, the balloons will leave you vulnerable to fall damage but can also be shot down very easily.
What’s cool, though, is that it looks like you can use them in conjunction with a shopping cart to float further and possibly allow yourself to float down from a big jump, meaning that we may be about to see some completely ludicrous plays as a result of the new item.
Fortnite is currently in the midst of Fortnitemares: its event to coincide with Halloween. Players can earn new cosmetics from completing challenges, so get to work.
