Fortnitemares: Is The Pumpkin Launcher Returning To Fortnite?

Pumpkin Launcher

One of the best features of Fortnite is how it changes to reflect special holidays — it typically only does it a couple of times, but they always feel like events. Its first, Fortnitemares, which came out just as the Battle Royale was finding its feet, is due to return this Wednesday.

We’ve already seen hints that the Revolver will be making a comeback, but now it might be the case that we will see the Pumpkin Launcher too, if this tweet from Eric Williamson of Epic is anything to go by:

That’s pretty innocuous at first, but anyone who was around the first time will probably either recoil at the mere words or allow themselves a wry smile. The Pumpkin Launcher was synonymous with the early days of Fortnite and now it doesn’t seem like a matter of if but when for its return.

As someone whose second introduction to Fortnite came during Fortnitemares, I have fond memories of the Pumpkin Launcher and really missed it when it was patched out. It might be less trauma-inducing this time out considering that there’s a limit on max rockets — late-game used to be Hell with all of the rockets flying everywhere.

Elsewhere in Fortnite, Epic have confirmed that Save The World won’t be going free in 2018 and will instead be tweaked until its fit for a wider audience. Fortnite actually started life as the PVE Early Access title before its Battle Royale came along and changed the game dramatically.
