Fortnite v3.5 Patch Out Now, Includes Replays, Port-a-Fort, Bug Fixes & More

Fortnite v3.5

One of Fortnite’s most anticipated new patches is out now with the release of v3.5, which brings a whole host of new features to the game. As ever, though, there’s sure to be some changes that not everybody agrees with.

The changes are far more stacked than initially thought and include the much-discussed Port-a-Fort: a portable fort that can be used in a pinch. The metal construction includes a door and tyres for easy access to the roof. It’s not as cheap as it sounds; you can very easily destroy metal buildings by shooting early on.

– Epic rarity.
– Drops in stacks of 1. Can stack up to 5 in inventory.
– When the Port-a-Fort is thrown, a pre-made fort is constructed instantly at the impact point.
– The Port-a-Fort is made out of metal and is three stories tall.
– The bottom floor is 1×1 with a door for entry. Tires inside allow for easy access to the roof.

To continue the theme of PUBG and Fortnite borrowing from each other, Fortnite will get its own replay editor in v3.5, which seems like a fairly robust system already. Expect to see YouTube being plagued by these for the foreseeable future.

– Save your matches and watch them from any angle!
– Speed up or slow down the action.
– Help tell your story better with player outlines and name plates.

Fortnite Battle Royale landing spots

Seemingly in an effort to reduce the amount of double-pumping, Epic are now introducing a time limit between swapping weapons. This is bound to be pretty controversial: it’s an OG technique so it looks like they’re trying to give new players a fairer chance.

The weapons affected by this include the following:

Rocket Launcher
Hand Cannon
Revolver
Tactical Shotgun
Pump Shotgun
Heavy Shotgun
Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
Hunting Rifle
Crossbow

Since its introduction, the Guided Missile has been a topic of conversation within the Fortnite community. Self rocket-riding is one of its best traits, but it was slightly overpowered, particularly in the late game. To remedy this, Epic have reduced the turn rate by 75% and have reduced the movement speed by 15%.

There are plenty of other changes in v3.5, including tweaks to vending machines, bug fixes for floating weapons, a new controller configuration for building, squad text communication, and plenty other changes and additions. For the full list, check out Epic’s patch notes here.
