Fortnite Season X The End Event Goes Dark, Breaks Twitch (UPDATED)

What the hell is going on.

The Fortnite Season X event, The End, featured what looks like the destruction of the Fortnite island as we know it with The Visitor and his friends finishing what they started.

Players were able to queue in to The End LTM and watch as the rocket took off from Dusty Depot, followed by many rifts opening and extra rockets coming through, eventually leading the meteor into the Nexus Orb at Loot Lake.

The impact blew players back up into the air, leading to them staring down as the island seemed to create a black hole and morph the island. The black hole pulled players in before for the screen cut to a continuous black hole with the original music playing. If you exit the black screen, you may encounter a failure screen and also be logged out of the Epic Games Launcher.

Since then, Fortnite have updated all of their social media with the black hole as well, and semi-regular black photos on their Instagram.

Nobody has any clue what’s going on, leading the Twitch and YouTube streams for the game reaching 6 million+ viewers across both platforms. The event seems to have had some effect on Twitch too, with the website currently being pretty hard to navigate and streams loading slowly. Nothing currently comes up in the Fortnite category.

Fortnite Twitch

Twitch themselves, however, are streaming Fortnite with a timer of how long the game has been gone for. It seems like they had some kind of deal with Epic beforehand.

Unfortunately, the event wasn’t accessible for everyone with the intense demand to get in-game making it impossible to get everyone aboard the Battle Bus. Even though they couldn’t get in-game, the event had an effect on the lobby.

UPDATE: You can play a mini-game while you wait by putting in part of the Konami Code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A on PC.

UPDATE: Epic Games have taken down almost all of their tweets from their Twitter page.

More as we get it.
