Fortnite Season 7 Week 8 Battle Pass Challenges

A quick runthrough on how to beat the Battle Pass challenges for week 8 of Fortnite Season 7.

Fortnite

Fortnite Season 7, Week 8 is here and the there are some actual interesting changes for the week. The Battle Pass challenges remain all within the same vein; search, damage, kill and explore. But the map itself (which isn’t specific to Week 8 itself, but did occur between Week 7’s BP drop and Week 8’s) has been covered in snow, with the normal gameplay mode being renamed to Ice Storm. Like Season 6’s ‘Fiend invasion’, the map is now once again being invaded by another villain’s henchmen, the ‘Ice Fiends’. So keep both the map alterations and roaming NPCs out for a tussle in mind as you complete the below challenges.

Fortnite Season 7: Week 8 Free Tiers

Place a Cozy Campfire or a Launch Pad in different matches (3 times) [5 Battle Stars]

Trap related challenges are fairly simple to execute in theory. Simply find a Cozy Campfire (blue rarity) or a Launch Pad (purple rarity) and place it down. Do this once per match over three matches and you’re finished. The only real issue with this challenge is finding these items as they’re quite specific and sometimes difficult to get your hands on.

Build structures (250 structures) [5 Battle Stars]

A challenge that requires practically zero extra effort, provided you don’t do some kind of ‘buildless challenge’. Play as usual, make sure you build and you’ll be done in no time. No real special tricks to this one.

Search between a mysterious hatch, a giant rock lady and a precarious flatbed [10 Battle Stars]

This is the most involved challenge for the week, using the old ‘treasure hunt’ style challenges that were prolific in earlier seasons. You need to find a Battle Tier that is ‘buried’ between three of the stated landmarks. We have an in depth article both revealing the treasures location and walking you through finding it, which you can find here.

Fortnite Season 7: Week 8 Battle Pass Tiers

Multi-stage: Visit two locations per match (3 stages) [5 Battle Stars]

A rather typical challenge in today’s Fortnite. This multi-stage challenge requires you to visit two specific locations per match. This means you must visit both of these locations before finishing a game for you to receive credit. The stages proceed in this order: Paradise Palms and Salty Springs (1 Battle Star) > Junk Junction and Loot Lake (2 Battle Stars) > Haunted Hills and Wailing Woods (3 Battle Stars). In Season 7, these challenges are a breeze: land somewhere out of the way that spawns a Stormwing, and just fly low over each location to receive credit.

Search 7 chests at Shifty Shafts or Lonely Lodge (7 chests) [5 Battle Stars]

Another very typical challenge for the current iteration of Fortnite. You’re required to search seven chests at either Shifty Shafts or Lonely Lodge. It doesn’t need to be all seven in one location, but it does need to be a chest from one of these locations and it can be done over as many matches as required. Both areas tend to have an equal (or close to it) amount of chests with neither being overly stacked compared to the other. I suggest just landing at the one furthest from the Battle Bus route to reduce competition if you’re aiming to get this done quickly.

Deal damage to opponents while riding in a vehicle (100 damage) [10 Battle Stars]

Simply deal damage while riding a vehicle to receive credit. The easiest way to accomplish this would be just to grab a Stormwing early on in a game and try to land as many shots as you can on opponents. Vehicle on vehicle damage doesn’t count, so it must be damage done to the opponent characters, not their vehicles. However, if, for example, you destroy an opponent’s plane while they’re in it, the damage they take from being forcibly removed does count towards the challenge.

Explosive Weapon Eliminations (3 eliminations) [10 Battle Stars]

This challenge requires three explosive weapon eliminations. This can include: grenades, grenade launchers and the rocket launcher. The only real way to speed this up is to play squads and hope the more densely packed opponent clustering nets you more than a single elimination. Otherwise, singles might still be easier due not requiring an execute to get elimination credit.
