Fortnite Season 7: Plasma Cannon Stats & Location

This thing seems broken.

Fortnite: Season 7 has had no shortage of wacky, deadly weaponry from other planets, and the Plasma Cannon is no different. Added during the V17.21 update on July 27th, 2021, this is a weapon that will obliterate builds and level whole buildings.

A Mythic weapon, the Plasma Cannon ties in with the other sci-fi weapons added over the course of the season, though it works similarly to the Boom Box of old in that it can quickly destroy builds unlike anything else — leaving your enemies totally exposed.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Plasma Cannon, the newest Mythic in Fortnite.

“Launch a slow moving energy ball that zaps nearby objects and destroys any buildings in its path.”

The Plasma Cannon is a destructive weapon that has the ability to fire five Plasma Balls before it’s depleted and is then discarded. You aren’t able to get any more ammo for it.

These Plasma Balls will do 33 damage to players, but massive damage to structures and builds, ripping through pretty much everything instantly. It does 500 damage to builds, which is enough to destroy just about anything that can be harvested.

While you can only shoot one Plasma Ball at a time, you can however equip multiple Plasma Cannons and shoot them while cycling through your inventory, causing gigantic damage.

Bear in mind that this Plasma Cannon isn’t related to the Plasma Gun seen in Save the World.

Fortnite Plasma Cannon Location

The Plasma Cannon, despite being a Mythic weapon, is actually found in Chests and IO Chests, though not all that commonly as a Mythic weapon.

You can also craft yourself a Plasma Cannon by combining a Legendary Pistol with an Alien Nanite, which are available across the map as more areas are taken over by a strange force.

Bear in mind that the Plasma Cannon won’t be in competitive playlists.

The Plasma Cannon feels like a major throwback in Fortnite to a time when all the new items would be overpowered, and it feels great to have something that’s just used for outright fun again.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
