It feels like it’s been a long while since we last had an in-game event to finish off a season of Fortnite, and that’s because we haven’t had one since Season 4. We had the single-player experience to kick off Season 6 and close Season 5, but had nothing to close Season 6. Luckily for us, the Season 7 event is confirmed and could be one of the biggest in Fortnite history.

From Ariana Grande to missing chunks of the island, the Season 7 event, by the name of Rift Tour, promises to be quite the ride. While it may not answer a lot of the questions we have about Fortnite right now, it’s likely to be quite the spectacle.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Season 7 event in Fortnite, including what day and time it starts, as well as what you should expect.

The Fortnite Season 7 event will take place on August 6th, 2021 at 11PM BST / 3PM PDT /4PM MDT / 5PM CDT / 10PM UTC in the Americas. For more timezones, be sure to visit this handy convertor.

However, there will actually be multiple showings of the event, which is looking like certainly being for an Ariana Grande concert. The Americas will be able to take part on August 6th, Asia and Oceania on August 8th, EU and the Middle East on August 8th, and The Americas again on August 8th, all at different times. There will be another showing for everyone in the world regardless of region on August 7th.

Be sure to log in and see exact times for your region for Ariana Grande concert.

Don’t forget to log in long before the event kicks off to make sure that you’re in the queue to take part, as many players seem to miss out every time either because they’re too late to join or the queues get too full. Also RSVP to ensure you can take part in the Rift Tour challenges and guarantee your place in the queue.

As for how long it will be, most events in Fortnite typically last for around 15 minutes, expect the same thing with the Season 7 event.

Is The Fortnite: Season 7 Event Ariana Grande?

It’s unclear at this time of writing what exactly the event will be, whether it will be something story related or not. However, there seems to be a lot of clues totting up to suggest that it will have something to do with Ariana Grande.

Arguably the world’s biggest female popstar right now, Grande has often been linked to Fortnite in one way or another, but now it looks like they will finally be collaborating with dataminers finding files that suggest as such, as well as insider knowledge.

Weirdly, there’s actually a (completely made up) day called Ariana Grande Day on August 6th, which lines up with the countdown currently seen in the lobby. It’s unofficial and was created by her fans, but it does coincide with the event — almost certainly not by accident, either.

There’s also the fact that every leaker seems to have insider info, and that the Rift Tour event tab makes mention of “a record-breaking superstar”, which Grande certainly is.

It looks very much like the event will be a collaboration with Ariana Grande that’s similar to the Travis Scott concert, though this is not yet confirmed. It could be a lore event after all.

Fortnite Season 7: The Story So Far

While the official Fortnite lore has taken a bit of a backseat this season for collabs (like it kind of always does these days), there’s reason to believe that the event will continue the story.

At the start of the season, an alien force arrived on the island and started a war with IO, the mysterious group led by Dr Slone, by abducting the Zero Point. Famous faces like Rick Sanchez of Rick & Morty fame aligned themselves with IO to save the island as well, and Rick’s been making tech and defenses for the island’s citizens this whole time.

Over the course of the season, the two factions have been fighting but the mothership of the aliens has been a pretty dominant fixture above the map. It’s likely that this mothership will do something major as the season progresses, but right now it’s abducting parts of the island, such as POIs like Slurpy, Corny and Coral.

The season will most likely conclude with some kind of climactic showdown between IO and the aliens where the former will retrieve the Zero Point, but don’t forget that we still have to find The Foundation, who’s been lost in a random part of the ocean.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
