Alien Artifacts are a new resource added in Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 7, along with Battle Stars.
Unlike Gold Bars, which are used in matches, Alien Artifacts are used in the lobby to permanently claim more Kymera styles.
Kymera is a Battle Pass skin who unlocks on the first page. There are over 800000 different variations of the Kymera skin to unlock, but unlike Maya, you are able to change the styles for Kymera as much as you want.
As for where to find more Alien Artifacts, they can be found out on the Fortnite map in varying quantities. Here are some of the Alien Artifact locations for Week 1 of Season 7.
Prices for different parts of the Kymera skin range from 2 Alien Artifacts to 17 Alien Artifacts.
