Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 5 is now upon us, which means yet another huge shake-up of the meta. Each season, Epic loves to add a tonne of new weapons as well as bring back a load of old items by unvaulting, but that also means that they will be vaulting just as many.

And, if early hints are anything to go by, it looks like the Pump Shotgun, all rarities including the SPAS, may have been vaulted once again. Here’s everything that’s been vaulted and unvaulted in Fortnite: Season 5.

Fortnite Season 5 Vaulted Items
Fire Trap
– Scoped AR
– Pump Shotgun
– LMG
– Tac SMG
– Burst Assault Rifle
Combat Shotgun
– Revolver
– Boogie Bomb
– Port A Fort

Fortnite Season 5 Unvaulted Items
– Heavy Assault Rifle
– Tactical Assault Rifle
– Tactical Shotgun
– Charge Shotgun
– P90
– SMG

It’s obvious from this list that the Pump Shotgun just isn’t a weapon that Epic really want in the game anymore. It kind of makes sense, especially as so many players are so reliant on it and so many fights revolve around it. It gets a little boring, to be honest.

It also appears as if Epic have buffed the Tactical Shotgun, which makes a lot of sense considering how weak and unreliable it used to be. In Season 5, the Tac will now do more damage across all ranges, making it seemingly closer to the Combat Shotgun.

In terms of what else has left, nobody should really be surprised that Fire Traps or the Scoped AR has been vaulted. Neither were a favourite and the Fire Traps in particular were just not very useful at all. It will be interesting to see if this means that the OG traps might return in some capacity.

Finally, the return of the Charge Shotgun and Tactical Shotgun might mean that we’re all sick of seeing shotguns after a while and not even want the Pump back. And oh, the Dragon’s Breath Shotgun is in the game, but it’s a bit eh.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
