Fortnite Season 5 Guide: Week 6 Battle Pass Challenges Walkthrough

Fortnite season 5

Week six of season 5 is here and it appears the changes made in the transition to season 5 are holding steady, even past the halfway point. Three of the seven weekly challenges are still free, while the other four still require the Battle Pass to complete. Therefore, if you want all seven challenges for the week, you need to purchase a Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks. If you’d prefer to wait, you can buy the Battle Pass any time throughout the season and be granted access to all challenges from previous weeks. We’re over the halfway hump though, so the amount of time you’d need to fit in per week to get it all done can get a little daunting at this point.

Below is a list of the seven challenges for week six and how to complete them.

Deal headshot damage to opponents (500 damage)
The typical deal damage with X weapon challenge, but this time, without the weapon. Just land 500 damage worth of headshots over as many games as it takes and you’ll be finished. With the way massive multiplier headshots and bloom works in this game, it shouldn’t take too long. If you want to expedite the process, queueing into squads or duos and shooting downed people in the head will speed it up significantly.

Harvest building resources with a pickaxe (3000 damage)
This is the random challenge for the week, asking you to simply harvest resources as you would normally with your pickaxe. Just smack trees, walls, cars, etc. until 3000 damage worth is racked up and you’re done.

Search where the Stone Heads are looking
The typical treasure hunt challenge for the week, borrowing heavily from the traditional ‘three landmark’ format. The twist this time is, instead of triangulating between three locations, you need to trace the sightlines of the Stone Heads to find their common intersecting point. If you’d like a bit more in-depth explanations of the challenge, or just want to know where the treasure is located, we have you covered with a guide located here.

Fortnite Steady Storm

Search chests in Lonely Lodge (7 Chests)
The weekly chest search challenge, the location this week in Lonely Lodge. A fairly average location for this challenge, not highly trafficked, but the chests are spread out, not overly numerous and often in exposed locations. If you’re attempting this early in the week, expect it to take a fair few games.

Complete timed trials (5 trials)
The scavenger hunt style challenge for the week. Scattered around the map are little floating blue stopwatches. Interacting with this stopwatch spawns numerous others around the vicinity and it is your mission to collect them all before the neat little SNES-type song (and timer) ends. The circuit stopwatches (not the starting one) appear at various altitudes and require you build a little course first so you can collect them all in time.

Minigun or Light Machine Gun eliminations (2 eliminations)
The standard get two kills with Y weapon challenge. This week is the Minigun and LMG. Just like last season’s version of this, it is going to be a right pain. Both the minigun and LMG aren’t super common and on top of that aren’t the best choice in weapon around (the LMG is serviceable, the Minigun is asking to be sniped in the face). The real challenge however, remains in just finding one.

Eliminate opponents in Tilted Towers (3 eliminations)
The final challenge for this week is the eliminations at specific locations challenge. This week is Tilted Towers and is still the usual three kills. This location’s difficulty rests in the hands of fate. All that is required is a strong starting weapon and some shields and you can get all three in one game. Getting that strong start, however, is still in the hands of fate.
