Fortnite Season 4 Guide: Follow The Haunted Hills Treasure Map

As seems to be codified tradition now, every week sports a Battle Pass challenge focused on finding a hidden treasure, which alternate between following a treasure map and searching between three distinct landmarks. This week’s challenge asks you to find a map in Haunted Hills, decipher the location it shows you (usually a crudely drawn rendition of a location, sometimes with a little information omitted) and ‘dig’ up that treasure for your Battle Pass tier.

Remember, like every ‘find the treasure’ based challenge (that isn’t a ‘Blockbuster’ one), you can skip straight to the location of the treasure if you already know where it is, bypassing the map step entirely. So if you’re not interested in how the treasure is found – or you’re in a hurry – just skip to the final section of the guide. It will have a picture of the treasure location marked on the map as well as a picture of the treasure itself. For those interested in the whole process, read on.

Just like last week, Haunted Hills sports two maps (that I could find). The first is on the east end of the cemetery. There is a small building with a hole in the wall outside that leads under the floor. The map resides within. This appears as B2 on the main map’s grid.

The second map is located on the western end of the cemetery. Just south of the church is another small square building. The map is visible from the entrance. This also appears as B2 on the main map’s grid.

This week the map is fairly straightforward, it asks you to go to Junk Junction. Not much in the way of twists or omitted information like in previous weeks.

As the map indicates, the treasure is located on the central northern edge of Junk Junction atop a compacted stack of cars. You can differentiate this stack of cars from the others by looking for a basketball hoop and shipping container located next (east) to it. This appears as B1 on the main map’s grid. Just jump up there, interact and you’re done.

This challenge paired with ‘visiting four central named locations’ challenge are the two guide worthy challenges for the week. If you’re looking for tips or a route for best handling this challenge, you can check out our guide here. The rest of the challenges are of the typical variety, killing, looting and being a hooligan.
