Fortnite: Ranger Shotgun Stats & Location

Fortnite Ranger Shotgun
Fortnite Ranger Shotgun

After previously being teased during the Chapter 3 – Season 2 trailer, the Ranger Shotgun was finally added to Fortnite on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 as part of the v20.20 update.

While not the Pump Shotgun many had hoped, this single-shot weapon is still absolutely worthwhile in the meta as it deals huge damage over distance that’s arguably even better than the Combat Shotgun at its peak. The damage drop-off is very kind, as it’s actually based on skeet shooting weapons that are used for shooting discs from afar.

Here’s everything to know about the Ranger Shotgun in Fortnite.

The Ranger Shotgun is available from Common to Legendary rarity.

The higher the rarity, the better the damage and reload time. The fire rate and magazine size (one shot) remains the same for each rarity.

The Ranger Shotgun is very good in the Zero Build mode of Fortnite, as it can hit enemies even from quite a few meters away. This, coupled with its fast reload time and strong damage, means it’s great for fighting out in the open.

It doesn’t have quite the kick needed to one shot with a headshot, so you may have to swap to an SMG if building.

Fortnite Ranger Shotgun Location

The Ranger Shotgun isn’t an Exotic or special weapon, so it can be found pretty much anywhere that loot usually spawns.

Find it in chests, on the floor, supply chests/drops, and from vendors like the Bao Bros NPC in Condo Canyon for Gold Bars.

Don’t forget that you can also upgrade the Ranger Shotgun up to Legendary if you have the Gold Bars required.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
