If you’re one of the few who’s yet to experience Fortnite on mobile as you haven’t secured an invite, worry no more — it’s now open to anyone on an iOS device, whether it’s a mobile phone or tablet.
Previously, you needed to either apply for an invite or receive one from friends; two additional tickets were given to successful applicants.
All you need to do is go over to the Epic Games site and sign-up for an Epic account and then download the app from the App Store.
However, Fortnite Mobile is currently only available on the following devices:
iPhone SE
iPhone 6S
iPhone 7
iPhone 8
iPhone X
iPad Mini 4
iPad Air 2
iPad 2017
iPad Pro
While it’s highly unlikely that Fortnite Mobile will be retroactively enabled for older devices, it will soon come to Android. There’s no timeframe other than “the next few months”, so maybe don’t hold your breath. That being said, with the iOS version seemingly now in a good state, it might be time for Epic to start focusing on Android. You can sign-up for updates on when your Android device will be compatible on the website.
If you’re curious about Fortnite and want an entry point, its mobile counterpart is a good entry point. It’s harder to pull a Ninja when compared to PC, so the playing field is more level. It’s a robust game on mobile devices too, even if it had to make some small concessions to run.
The best thing about this? No more people like-begging on Facebook and Twitter for invites and less spam.
