You have to feel for Epic sometimes, who seem to find it impossible to keep a new Fortnite season/chapter launch under wraps to the point where it feels like they must actually be trying to reveal everything early as part of some wild marketing plan. As is almost tradition now, the new trailer for Chapter 5 – Season 1, Underground, seems to have leaked early on TikTok and shows off a bunch of stuff coming to the game from November 3rd, 2023.

There’s a lot that can be pulled from this leaked trailer, the first being that Jonesy (also spoiling the big return at the end of the Big Bang event) has gone underground after someone seems to have captured Peely. There’s a brand new map which features a train that can be captured, with the trailer also showing off a brand new shield item that can be used almost like a battering ram while also allowing players to shoot from behind it.

The long awaited weapon mods are also finally in the game with the launch of Chapter 5, which seem to take the form of attachments that change how weapons work. It also seems like a completely fresh loot pool, as I can’t say I am immediately familiar with everything shown off in the trailer.

The trailer also promises brand new ways of getting around, including scaling walls, the ability to drink big pots while walking (revolutionary, honestly), the Grapple Blade that works similarly to the AoT ODM gear, and also closer looks at the already leaked Battle Pass skins, Peter Griffin and Solid Snake.

Truthfully, it doesn’t seem like the wildest new chapter yet — Chapter 4’s Spider-Man reveal just felt a lot bigger. But it’s obviously hard to gleam too much from a vertical video for a season that isn’t even out yet.

We will be able to get a proper look at everything leaked here when Fortnite: Chapter 5 – Season 1 launches on Sunday, November 3rd, 2023.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
