Fortnite: Chapter 5 – Season 1: What Happened to Daily Quests?

For many years, one of the best way of players griding XP for the Battle Pass has been the game’s daily quests, which work exactly as you’d expect. Log on every day, complete some pretty straightforward XP, grind out your Battle Pass. However, with the launch of Chapter 5, that’s all changed.

As of Season 1, daily quests are no longer a feature of Fortnite and have instead been replaced with Match Quests. At the start of each match, players will now be given a choice of three different Match Quests to complete during the course of the match. If one of these isn’t completed within the match, it will expire and players will have to choose a different quest in the next match.

While it might be a shame to see there being no more daily quests in Fortnite, it doesn’t mean that they will never return. Epic often release new mechanics at the start of a chapter that are gone by its end, so there’s every chance they could swap back the old system before long depending on player feedback.

Don’t forget that there’s still plenty of ways of earning XP in Fortnite to put towards your Battle Stars. There are still weekly challenges to tick off and additional challenges at the start of the season to really set you off on the right foot, not to mention Milestones returning to their old system as well.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
