Just how strong the map is at the start of a new Fortnite season really determines just how much the fanbase plays it for. Add too much and it can feel too busy, add too little and it can come across like the same game as the prior season. Epic has got the balancing act right for most of Chapter 4, and Season 4’s new map brings plenty of fresh tweaks to the island, including plenty of new POIs and secrets to discover.

Here’s your first look at the map for Fortnite: Chapter 4 – Season 4:

Once we’re able to jump in in-game, we will update this with the official location names on the map.

As you can see, plenty has changed from last season’s map, with the bottom left corner of the map now being shaped like a crescent moon. Some of the snow in the northern areas of the map have also thawed. Considering this season will also take place during Fortnitemares, these likely won’t be the only changes we’ll see, either.

Here are the names of the new POIs that we know of so far from Season 4:

– Eclipsed Estate
– Sanguine Suites
– Relentless Retreat

Before you jump back onto the island, here are just a few screenshots of the newest POIs to make their way to the Fortnite island.

This is all plenty of change for a game that loves to innovate upon itself every few months, but this is without discussing how much has changed to existing POIs and Landmarks too. Kado Thorne, a Battle Pass character and presumably someone fairly prominent within the lore, has take over all of these new POIs and set up bases, meaning that players can infilitrate them to unlock the precious loot that resides within. Older POIs already mentioned that also have to be conquered include Rumble Ruins, the Slap Juice factory, and a tower in MEGA City, which all house special, rare items from the past, including Midas’ Drum Gun.

And if all this isn’t enough for you, as mentioned the map will of course change over the course of the season. We will certainly be seeing some Halloween renovations as we inch closer to October, and there will no doubt be one or two crossover POIs that pop up over the course of the season, too.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
