Few things are as much of a tradition with Fortnite than the end of season events. Whether you’re a regular player or a lapsed fan, Fortnite’s events are the best card up Epic’s sleeve to pop player numbers, as they really are the best in the business. With Season 2 on the horizon, fans are probably starting to wonder when Epic will unleash the event to round off Chapter 4 – Season 1.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be an event for Chapter 4 – Season 1. As of the most recent update, there were no event files to speak of, so barring some very unexpected patch, there won’t be an event this season. If there was to be an event for Season 1, we probably would have started to hear about it by now with marketing from Epic.
The closest we came to an event in Season 1 was the Kid Laroi concert, though as this was in Creative, it’s hard to say it really counts. The most recent event, if we’re being strict, remains the Fracture event to close off Chapter 3.
In truth, it’d be hard to see how there could even be an event this season as there’s been so little movement on the story front. As is often the case with seasons that coincide with the festive season, Epic pulled back on the story for the start of Chapter 4 to allow people to just enjoy some snowy fun. And while there have been a lot of crossovers in Season 1, nothing that really ties into the story in any meaningful way.
That’s likely to change with Season 2, however, especially if Epic is sticking to the four-season format for new chapters. There are a lot of question marks still hanging over the Fortnite canon, not the least of which is where The Seven are, and what became of The Herald after their dominance at the end of the last chapter. It’ll be interesting to see where the Fortnite story goes from here, but one thing almost goes without saying: you’ll have to protect the Zero Point. Again.
