The latest edition of SEGA and Sports Interactive’s addictive number cruncher is set to launch this November, and as is tradition, there’ll be a beta that players can enjoy before launch.
The beta has become a staple for Football Manager games in the past few years, allowing players the chance to enjoy the game a couple of weeks earlier while the devs collect data and feedback to ensure that the game’s proper launch is as smooth as possible. It’s really just paid early access more than a beta in the traditional sense, but it works for the community and Sports Interactive really well.
If you’re looking to manage your team this season a little bit earlier than usual, here’s everything you need to know about Football Manager 2024’s beta, including when it releases, how you can access it and what you can expect from it.
Football Manager 2024 Beta Release Date
Just like last year, Football Manager 2024’s early access beta period will begin two weeks before the game’s launch on November 6th, 2023. While SEGA and Sports Interactive haven’t confirmed a proper date yet, we can expect to get hands on with the FM 2024 beta around October 23rd, 2023. Career progress that’s made during the beta period will also be carried over to the full game, so there’s no downside to getting involved.
That being said, SI have been known to launch the early access period earlier, as FM 2022’s beta launched three weeks before the full game’s launch. Keep your eyes peeled right here in case SEGA and SI decide on an early kick off this year as well.
How To Access The Football Manager 2024 Beta
In order to access the beta period of Football Manager 2024, you simply need to pre-order the game either directly from Steam, the Windows Store, or the Epic Games Store. Football Manager 2024 Beta: Where To Pre-Order
If you’re looking to pre-order Football Manager 2024 on the cheap, the best place to do so would likely be from a third-party source. The game has an RRP of around £44.99, but through various third party offers and sites, it’s possible that you can pre-order FM 2024 for closer to £35, which definitely isn’t a discount to sneeze at.
The best third-party sellers to pre-order from are sites like Fanatical, ShopTo and Humble Store, as they’re the most reliable and will typically send out code around the launch of the beta, while typically being cheaper than buying the game through Steam or EGS. All three are listed on SEGA’s Partner List too.
Meanwhile, be sure to avoid somewhat more controversial websites like CDKeys, G2A and Eneba, as they might not have keys to send out before the game launches, and they might not even be working with SEGA and Sports Interactive in the first place. Buyer beware definitely applies here.
Will There Be A Football Manager 2024 Console Beta?
Just like last year, Football Manager 2024 will not be receiving a beta on console, meaning you’ll have to wait until November 6th to play the game on Xbox, PlayStation and the Nintendo Switch. Part of the reason for this is because the console version of FM 2024 is technically a different version of the game to the PC release.
The game also won’t be getting a beta on mobile, with this year’s version being exclusive to Netflix subscribers.
