As part of the May 24th, 2023 PlayStation Showcase, PS VR2 had a few appearances in Arizona Sunshine 2, Synapse starring Metal Gear Solid alumni David Hayter and Jennifer Hale, Resident Evil 4, and this gem. Five Nights at Freddy’s is a series made to be right in your face, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 promises to throw all of Freddy Fazbear’s horrors at you in PlayStation’s dedicated virtual reality headset.

Help Wanted 2 is the follow-up to 2019’s Help Wanted, which also dropped on the PS VR. Since then, Five Nights got comfortable in virtual reality with the Curse of Dreadbear DLC, Security Breach, and its DLC, Ruin! Even if Help Wanted 2 doesn’t sound like it will revolutionize virtual reality gaming, its use of the PS VR2’s enhanced power will certainly elevate the horror experience. Here’s everything you need to know about Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 Release Date

According to its reveal trailer, Help Wanted 2 is slated to release in late 2023. The last full Five Nights at Freddy’s release, Security Breach, launched in December 2021. It’s definitely possible Help Wanted 2 will stick to the same schedule, if not a little earlier to hit that Halloween season launch.

What is Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 About?

Steel Wool Studios’ executive producer, Ray McCaffrey, states that Help Wanted 2 will “feel familiar to players who experienced the first game.” In the original, the incidents surrounding Fazbear Entertainment have left a stain on the company. To combat the urban legends, the company develops the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, resulting in a very meta plot and the resurgence of classic Five Nights characters.

The game ends in such a way that Help Wanted 2 could pick up where it left off, and that’s likely the route Steel Wool Studios will go. According to McCaffrey, the game will feature a new story, locations, and minigames. But most importantly, there will be new animatronics to amplify the horror.

Who is Developing Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2?

In 2019, Steel Wool Studios took the reigns of Five Nights at Freddy’s with Help Wanted and was also responsible for Security Breach. The studio is led by veterans from Pixar Animation Studios, Andrew Dayton and Jason Topolski. Topolski also worked on Minecraft Story Mode and Tales from the Borderlands at Telltale Games.

What Platform Will Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 Release On?

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 is currently only slated for a PS VR2 release. The original did release on PC alongside the PS4 and later on the Switch, Oculus, Xbox, and mobile devices, but there’s no indication that Help Wanted 2 will scare its way out of the PS VR2 library just yet.

Amplifying the immersion, Help Wanted 2 will make use of the PS VR2’s advanced hardware to keep players on their toes. The game will integrate the headset’s haptics, which will rumble and shake as players struggle to complete tasks and evade the pursuing horrors.
