5 Awesome Things To Look Forward To In Warcraft’s 7.2 Patch

Tomorrow will see the release of World of Warcraft’s 7.2 “Tomb of Sargeras” patch, one of the largest Warcraft patches that we’ve seen for a little while now. The patch trailer (which you can view above) has generated some serious hype since its reveal, and so here are five things that we’re looking forward to from the update:

THE CATHEDRAL OF ETERNAL NIGHT

Available in Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic plus difficulties, the Cathedral of Eternal Night is a five-player Broken Shore dungeon. Blizzard recently explained a little of the dungeon’s creation and architecture, as well as revealing some information on the dungeon’s boss encounters: “While the raid delves deep into the foundations of the Tomb, revealing mysteries and varied horrors, this dungeon ascends the spire, focusing on the dark majesty of a tarnished monument to the glory of the goddess Elune. Entering atop a balcony overlooking the grand central hall of the Cathedral (a room that will later serve as the setting for the first boss encounter in the raid), players begin a climb that will take them past moonlit hanging gardens, towards the pinnacle of the tower where the Aegis must be placed.”

Players will finally be able to complete the Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part 2 achievement, in order to unlock flying in the Broken Isles. I’m looking forward to all the GIFs which will undoubtedly grace my timeline, as people begin to unlock the ability to zoom around the skies of the Broken Isles. Make sure you complete Part One first–it’s account wide and begins with completing your Class Order Hall Campaign.

GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL

Set in the Wailing Caverns, the 7.2 patch will introduce “Pet Battles”, where players can face off against other pet-owning players in Pokemon-style battle events. Blizzard explained that pets will need to be at least level 25 to participate, and that you’re probably going to need a few of them on your side: “You only need one level 25 pet to enter the dungeon for the first time, but we’d definitely advise having three ready to rumble. For the weekly challenge quest you will need a minimum of 15 level 25 pets to complete the dungeon.” You cannot heal or revive your pets during the event, so be prepared!

PVP BRAWLS

Taking inspiration from both Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm, the 7.2 patch will add three PvP Brawl Events, each designed to shake up PvP play. The first brawl is “Gravity Lapse”, where you’re launched into the air and slowly, slowly dropped back down to the ground, whilst trying to bag enough resources to win. The next new brawl mode is “Tarren Mill vs. Southshore”, a classic callback event which was first introduced as part of the tenth anniversary celebrations. And lastly, there’s “Warsong Scramble”, a Capture the Flag mode where you’ll need to grab five flags from the enemy team in order to win.

Transmogrification Sets

Everyone loves some shiny new armour, and 7.2’s new Transmog options allow players to keep better track of your freshest looks with a new “Sets” tab in the Appearances interface. You can scroll through and check which armour parts you need to complete your sets, as well as previewing full sets on your character models. The Sets tab will also guide you on your journeys throughout Azeroth, explaining which pieces are Boss drops, World drops etc etc. Overall, a helpful new addition for people looking to build up a certain look for their character(s)!
