Fallout 4 Will Have No Level Cap, No “Locking Out”

Fallout 4 Dog and Man

Bethesda has announced that unlike other entries in the franchise, Fallout 4 won’t have a level cap.

Fans of the Fallout series can rejoice, as once the main campaign is over, they will be able to continue levelling. Anyone who has played any previous entry in the Fallout franchise will know that level caps have varied, but one has always been in place. Fallout 3 allowed players to level up to 20 (30 if you count the Broken Steel add-on), and Fallout: New Vegas allowed players to cap at 30-50, depending on how many add-ons were purchased.

Controversially, Fallout 3 originally prevented players from exploring the open world once they had completed the main campaign, although this was later patched.

Fallout 4 is due out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 10th, 2015.
