Elden Ring: How To Play Offline

Elden Ring offers a wide world of pain and suffering that’s perhaps best shared with friends, but there’s something to be said for taking the lone warrior route and playing offline instead.

To play offline in Elden Ring, go to System > Network and change Launch Setting to Play Offline. You can do this from the main menu or in your save, though you may have to relaunch for the change to take effect.

When you’re playing offline in Elden Ring, you won’t be able to summon other players, see their spirits, or read their messages. That might be for the best to help you concentrate, as the Lands Between has a whole lot of Tarnished saying a whole lot of things. You’re able to turn it back on any time, though you may want to reload your save to make sure going online properly takes effect.

Luckily for those without PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold who don’t want to mix with others, you won’t be able to go online anyway as both the PlayStation and Xbox platforms require those subscriptions.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
