Elden Ring: How to Obtain the Grafted Blade Greatsword

All part of the graft.

The Grafted Blade Greatsword is a weapon in Elden Ring that looks like it’s straight out of Game of Thrones with its many swords all attached to one body.

It’s an impressive-looking and powerful weapon and can be obtained fairly early in Elden Ring as long as you are willing to sneak into Castle Morne and defeat Leonine Misbegotten, however its stats may prevent you from wielding it right away. Here’s everything you need to know about the Grafted Blade Greatsword.

First, in order to obtain the greatsword, you’ll need to head to the Weeping Peninsula which is south of Limgrave. You can follow the road from the Gatefront ruins east until you reach the fork in the road. Here you’ll head right and keep to the road until you come across the Bridge of Sacrifice.

The bridge has a number of guards and a stationary crossbow shooter. You can ride past them all using Torrent while strafing to avoid the bolts being shot. There is a Site of Grace to the right as you leave the bridge so make sure you touch it before proceeding further along the route.

Keep following the road and right before you enter through the hole in the castle’s walls, take a left and touch the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace. We recommend picking up the peninsula’s map fragment which can be found along the main road after the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace.

Riding closer to the castle, you’ll begin to be shot at by a giant with a huge bow. Ride toward the square-looking ruin looking toward the castle and make sure you are riding at an angle to avoid being hit by the giant. This will help to protect you from the giant’s arrows.

Here you have a slight vantage point to get a feel for the giant. When you are ready, you can ride toward the giant and start swiping at his ankles. Watch out for his stomps but for the most part, he’s not great at close-range combat. It may take a few hits but once he’s down, he won’t come back.

Step inside the castle, rest at the Castle Morne Lift Site of Grace, and ride the lift upward. There are quite a few enemies inside. In the main courtyard, you’ll find a bunch of Misbegotten, some dogs, soldiers, and a Pumpkin Head. It can take some time to clear them out but you can also just sneak by this entire first section. Crouch down and head straight just left of the far left Misbegotten, approach the pumpkin head from behind and head right. You’ll find one Misbegotten here blocking your path so stab him in the back and climb the ladder further down the alley.

On top of the castle rampart, there will be four more Misbegotten, two of which will be able to fly. The best way to deal with the ones that fly is with jumping attacks or ranged attacks. You can also use the height advantage provided by the stairs to hit them.

Proceed to the opposite end of the rampart from where you came up and look right. There should be a chunk missing from the wall and a cliff just below with a Site of Grace. Now there’s going to be a bit of hopping around. Proceed down the cliffs until you come back to a way to hop back to the castle’s architecture. Either fall down the alley where the slimes are or jump down the grate where rats are waiting.

Walk out toward the bridge and jump off the left where a building’s tiled roof provides a new platform for you. Scramble across a few more cliffs until you reach another hole to fall down but be careful with this one – it’s a much higher fall than the others. You should look for the wooden beams to fall on and then be ready to attack the rats that are waiting to ambush you at the bottom.

Step out and take a hard left to find the Beside the Rampart Gaol Site of Grace. This one is the most important so make sure you get it because you’ll likely be using it a lot for the boss fight.

You should see some floating jellyfish now and a rickety-looking bridge with a boss fogged door down below to your left. Run across the bridge to where some of the jellyfish are floating and jump down to them but avoid hitting them so as not to aggro them. Now come up to Leonine Misbegotten’s fog door and prepare. After you defeat Leonine, you’ll be awarded the Grafted Blade Greatsword which has a high physical attack but will require that you have a strength stat of at least 40 and a dexterity stat of 14. Its skill Oath of Vengeance allows the user to raise all attributes including poise for a temporary amount of time. It can even be upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones when you’re ready to make it even deadlier.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
