Grave Warden Duelist is an optional boss in Elden Ring that can be found in the Murkwater Catacombs in Western Limgrave along the river.
Here’s where to find Grave Warden Duelist.

Though Grave Warden Duelist hits very hard if you’re early on in your Elden Ring journey, he also has some very telegraphed, very avoidable attacks and is a good enemy to teach you the importance of patience with timing.
The only attack you have to be particularly wary of is his wide AOE that will keep swinging more than you might expect, often for huge damage. Apart from that, it’s a case of timing your dodges when he leaps into the air and when he winds up his hammer. Simply keep avoiding and jump attacking him to chip away at his health if you’re a melee fighter.
Magic and ranged users may find Grave Warden Duelist a bit of a walkover, as he isn’t very fast and can be backstepped out of range without much difficulty while also being quite vulnerable to magic. You can easily light him up with a Glintstone Staff or general ranged attacks from afar, rolling backwards when he gets too close.
As is the case with most bosses in Elden Ring, you can take a lot of the aggro off of yourself by summoning ashes like the Lone Wolf Ashes or any other ashes that come with multiple friendlies. When he’s distracted by your ashes, you can easily backstab him for huge damage.
Players will earn 1700 runes and the Battle Hammer weapon for defeating Grave Warden Duelist.
Elden Ring is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
