EA’s Sombre Adventure Game Sea of Solitude Coming This July

Mark this one on your calendars.

Sea of Solitude

Publisher EA has revealed that the upcoming story driven adventure game Sea of Solitude will launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 5th. It will cost $19.99 in the US and £17.99 in the UK. Unfortunately for those looking to buy the game on PC, it will be exclusive to the Origin store.

Sea of Solitude has been known about for some time. EA first revealed the game at their E3 press conference in 2018. However, German developer Jo-Mei Games had been working on the title since at least 2015. Very little was known about the game other than the fact that it appeared to have a similar visual style to the likes of Limbo and would put players into the role of Kay.

According to Cornelia Geppert, the CEO of Jo-Mei Games, the game “centers on the essence of loneliness and tugs on the heartstrings of its players by mirroring their own reality.” Along the journey, players will encounter a number of monsters and the in-game weather will shift along with the protagonist’s own emotional state. They can then use these to help solve puzzles, helping Kay to come to terms with her mental health.
