Developer Techland have announced that their upcoming survival game, Dying Light 2, has been delayed. The game, previously slated for release in December of this year, is now slated for February 4th, 2022.

Dying Light 2 was initially announced at E3 2018, and was initially slated for release in 2020 before delays pushed it back to late this year, and now into next year.

A statement from the developer explains the situation, saying “The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is currently complete, and we are playtesting it.

“It is by far the biggest and most ambitious project we have ever done. Unfortunately, we realized that for us to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to optimize and polish it.

“We are sorry to keep you all waiting for a little longer, but we want the game to meet your highest expectations on release and we don’t want to compromise on this.”

When Will We Know More About Dying Light 2?

Fans won’t have to wait long for more information on the game, as next month press and content creators will be able to access the game via preview events, and Techland will be giving further updates on the game’s development later this month.

To tide fans over, Techland have begun releasing episodes of an “Urban Legends” audio drama series, telling short stories set within Dying Light’s world.

Where Will Dying Light 2 Be Playable?

Dying Light 2 is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
