Developer Ronimo Games and publisher Devolver Digital have today announced Blightbound, a rather lovely looking dungeon crawler due for release on Steam Early Access sometime this Summer.

Here’s the reveal trailer.

And the synopsis:

“The world lies in peril. Decades ago, a band of legendary warriors slayed the dreaded Shadow Titan after a long and ferocious struggle, but their celebration was short-lived. The Shadow Titan’s true intentions revealed themselves when from his broken husk flowed the Blight; a corrupting fog that alters any living creature exposed to its evil.”

Players will be able to collect over 20 allies to help them battle the Blight with hundreds of unique items to choose from. Blightbound will feature a “mix of hand-painted characters and real time 3D models”, which is a long way of saying it will look very nice indeed.

There are free updates planned in Blightbound’s future, a game that will already feature three lands and even some community management atop a mountain, according to the press release.

Blightbound will also support both local and online co-op with players able to fulfil certain roles for better team composition.

Ronimo Games are the minds behind Awesomenauts, while Devolver also have Fall Guys and Carrion due for release sometime this year. Devolver are certainly expanding their portfolio, though you imagine demand for Hotline Miami 3 will never end.
