Destiny Servers Down For Maintenance Next Week

Destiny

If you’re still busy raiding and grinding in Destiny in anticipation for its sequel due later this year, you’re going to have to slow down for a second. Bungie are making sure all is well with a round of maintenance.

Starting off roughly at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET on Wednesday, May 15, the downtime will last for four hours, so the servers will return on the same day. It’s a long stretch of maintenance, but here’s hoping they fix what they need to. Bungie explained it pretty well:

“Think of your favorite game like a racecar. You can’t keep it red-lined on the track every moment of every day. Sometimes, you need to tighten a seal here and loosen a bolt there. Better upkeep means better performance – sometimes in ways you can barely detect. Similarly, when Destiny is down for maintenance, the Player Support Team is your pit crew.”

In addition to not being able to log-in to Destiny servers, Bungie.net and the companion app may not work as intended.

If you’re excited for Destiny 2, remember that a livestream unveiling the gameplay will take place on May 18.
