Dead By Daylight Getting Some New Saw Themed Content

If you haven’t been playing Dead By Daylight, you’ve been missing out on one of the best asymmetric multiplayer experiences of recent memory, where a team of four survivors try to escape the clutches of a killer, who wants to sacrifice you to some weird spider god in the sky or something. It’s weird, but intense and entertaining.

Anyway, Dead By Daylight has gotten some horror franchise inspired content recently, including Halloween’s Michael Myers and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Now, it’s the turn of torture porn/gorefest Saw to join the festivities.

In a new expansion pack which is available now for PS4, Xbox One and PC, The Saw Chapter will include a new killer, a new map and a new survivor. The killer, referred to as The Pig, is Jigsaw’s accomplice Amanda Young, which is a shame if you thought you’d be playing as the puppet on the bike. Still, you put reverse bear traps on the heads of survivors which explode after a certain amount of time, which is nice.

The Pig comes with a few new perks. Check them out below:

• HANGMAN’S TRICK – Your ingenious modifications to Hooks prevent tampering and permanent damage. Hooks destroyed by sabotage or sacrifices repair after a short moment. Gain a notification when someone starts Sabotaging the Hooks.
• SURVEILLANCE – Unlocks potential in one’s Aura reading ability. The last regressing generators’ Auras are revealed to you.
• MAKE YOUR CHOICE – When a Survivor rescues another from a hook at least 24 meters away from the Killer, Make your Choice triggers and confronts the Survivor with a Skill Check. A failed Skill Check damages the rescuer.

As for the new survivor, please welcome David Tapp, the detective from the first film who becomes obsessed with taking down Jigsaw. As with all of the survivors, David also comes with his own unique perks:

• TENACITY – There is nothing stopping you. Your ferocious tenacity in dire situations allows you to crawl faster and recover at the same time.
• DETECTIVE’S HUNCH – Unlocks potential in one’s Aura reading ability. When completing a Generator, Auras of Generators, Chests and Totems within range are revealed to you for 3 seconds. If you are holding a Map that can track objectives, objectives revealed by Detective’s Hunch are added to the map.
• STAKE OUT – Getting close to the Killer fills you with determination. When standing within the Killer Terror Radius for some time and not in a Chase, you gain a Token up to a maximum. When Stake Out has at least 1 Token, Good Skill Checks are considered Great Skill Checks and consume 1 Token.

Of course, you’ll be able to play as both characters on the new map, the Gideon Meat Planet, which featured in the Saw films from III onwards. Are you excited for this DLC pack? Want to play a game with some survivors online? Let us know in the comments.
